Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), also known as Oriental medicine, is a comprehensive medical system that has been utilized to cure, treat, and even prevent various diseases for over 2,000 years now. TCM derives its name from the ancient belief in yin/yang, which are opposing natural forces such as light and dark, heaven and earth, spring, autumn, light, health, disease, love, and death. According to this belief, yin means «health» and yang mean «disease.» For centuries, TCM has employed acupuncture, herbal medications, dietary supplements, massage therapy, traditional Chinese food therapy, and Chinese herbs to promote good health, maintain good health, prevent illness, improve the quality of life, or even to heal.
